Yeah, I've noticed many drivers don't yield to pedestrians when there are only white lines marking a crosswalk. The sign with lights in picture I've included is in several different locations in our city. They work well. You push a button and lights start flashing. The giant yellow diamonds are placed on both sides of the street, so the drivers can see them. Personally, I like this method.

I can see the status of this issue has not yet been changed from "Open" to "Acknowledged". That means nobody employed with our city has seen it. This issue was reported on Thursday, 02/13/2020. It usually doesn't take this long for one of our city's employees to acknowledge the issue. Today is a holiday, but if it isn't acknowledged by COB (Close of Business) tomorrow, Tuesday, 02/18/2020 it might behoove you to start making phone calls, if you would like action taken on your request.

By the way, the sign in the picture I included with my last posted comment is commonly known as an RRFB (Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon) for pedestrian crossings.
