Description
The pedestrian signals at Shattuck and Center (crossing Center) are completely out of sync with the traffic lights. There are excessively long gaps where the traffic on Shattuck has a green light but no walk signal, with no vehicles turning onto Center. From a pedestrian's perspective it looks like the signal must be broken, and everyone ends up giving up and crossing against the light.
This is one of the busiest pedestrian intersections in the East Bay. It needs a better-thought-out approach to the signal timing. Right now it seems like it was designed as if it was a suburban expressway.
(The next intersection at Addison has a similar issue on the west side as well)
