Agreed! The crosswalk is largely ignored by drivers. I dread using it, although I do at least twice a day on weekdays, because drivers are consistently not cooperative at this locale. Last week, I observed a pedestrian having to jump back out of the crosswalk to avoid being hit by a white SUV who was determined to plow through. I raised my arms in alarm and both the driver and the passenger gave us the finger.
