I have provided all the information that any competent agency would need to take action. You have the specifics issue (AC noise). You have the address. This is pretty simple. Please take action without putting up obstacles and creating more work for us both. A phone conversation is just delaying action in my view.

Again please call the non-emergency number at 955-1818 so that an officer may respond to the address and assess the problem. The issue is with enforcement. If an officer responds and the noise is not plainly audible at 200 feet or more from the property line of the source, then it is not considered a violation for which anyone can be warned or cited. However, if a reasonable person of normal sensitivities who may reside within 200 feet of the source is disturbed by the noise, then that person would have to make a complaint a formal complaint. The burden of proof of this complaint will be on the complainant if the complaint results in a hearing before a judge
I encourage you to look at City Ordinance 15 regarding Noise, which is very extensive as to what is regulated, what is considered a violation, enforcement procedures, etc.

This is totally ridiculous and shows that your system is a failure when it cannot handle such a simple complaint. Why did we spend the money to implement this system, train the staff, and pay to maintain it ? All the while you are directing citizens to work around the system by 'making phone call to so general non-emergency number'. This is a total failure. Very disappointing for Gainesville.

I’m exasperated by your non response

Is the faulty AC unit at 1015 NE 3rd St or is that your address? I personally drove on NE 3rd St last week during the day and didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. Additionally, we have had no other noise complaints of that nature in that area for the past three years.
