There is a drainage ditch behind my property (Loukell Ave SE) and my neighbors home, on Zimfran Ave SE. This ditch does not drain properly because it is not lined with concrete or any supportive matter. It is dirt only and in turn gets stuck with dirt, debris and tree/branch limbs. This ditch was dug out by Huntsville city and made to flow down and out at Aldridge Creek. Huntsville City was supposed to set the ditch with concrete but never came back. Now, my family and I have lived here going on a year and are dealing with enormous amounts of garbage that is getting stuck in the ditch, as well as a large pool of standing water that has never dried out creating rodent and pest problems and making a prime mosquito breeding ground. Our neighbor, behind us, has graciously shared the history of our home and this ditch. Please repair it so that we may have a functioning water way that allows water to move rather than stand still.
