No one's done anything about it yet

I called the D.O.T. and left a message on its machine. A day later, a very pleasant lady from D.O.T. called me back to get some clarification. Two days later, the area was mowed. Thank you, D.O.T! I pointed out that during winter the plowbanks created the same issue of obstructed vision, but short of bringing in bucket loaders to actually move the snow elsewhere, this will be a problem wel'll have to live with. I'd hope D.O.T. would mow several times during the summer, but I don't know what is possible, given exigencies of budget and time.

Once again, the high grass on the embankment on the north side of Route # 118 is obscuring the view to the left of cars coming out of Clark Road onto # 118. Mowing is needed again.

August 12, 2016. The grass has grown tall once again. Once again, it needs mowing. I would think by now it should be standard operating procedure for the DOT to cut that grass a couple of times during ever summer. A driver has to stick the nose of a car well out into # 118 to see if anything is coming from the left.

If the D.O.T. would shave that side of the road down to facilitate sightlines, it could do a lot to make life better around here. With the addition of Hunter's Chase condominium community, we get a lot of out-of-state drivers coming through who are unaware how potentially dangerous that intersection is. Tall grass in the summer and plowbanks in the winter mean you take your life in your hands every time you pull out onto 118.

It's clear no one with the authority to do anything about this doesn't give a damn for the residents of Clark Road. Every time we pull out of Clark onto # 118, the view to the left (down the long hill) is obstructed until the hood of the car is well into the roadway. The high bank on the north side of 118 grows tall grass in the summer and accumulates plow banks in the winter that make it even more difficult to navigate. WELL past due for D.O.T and the Town of Litchfield to determine whose job it is to clear this up.

I give up. It's clear no one in any area of authority is willing to correct a significant traffic defect that has the obvious potential to end up as a serious accident - or a fatal one. I'm sick of howling into the wind. Vox clamate in deserto.
