To me, and other people I have spoken to, Oak Avenue seems to end on Perry Hill Road, and Perry Hill connects directly to Bridgeport Avenue. I used to work on Perry Hill, so I would drive down to Bridgeport Ave. quite often, and almost get hit by the people coming out of Oak Ave on numerous occasions. I don't think a traffic light is necessary, just the roads marked more clearly and the traffic rules emphasized as a lot of the problem is people driving to fast and failing to stop.

is this a problem of inconsiderate drivers rather than the road conditions?.... Things will have to be addressed once the 5th-6th School is open.

Yes it is. It was even worse when the school was open previously. The problem WILL have to be addressed.

Yes, inconsiderate drivers seems to be the main issue. Everyone is in such a hurry. I'm not sure how bad the conditions were back when the school was open before, but within the past six years or so I've noticed that people are not considerate enough to stop where they should and wait to let the other car go if they got there first.

Also taking a left hand turn onto oak ave from Bpt Ave. your taking your life in your hands. Can not see on coming traffic with trees and brush blocking view.

The basic rules of this intersection:
1. Whoever enters first goes first. Unless you are making a left onto Bridgeport Ave from Perry Hill; then the car turning right onto Bridgeport Ave from Oak may go if it is clear. No left turns should be allowed from Oak Ave - it is too hard to negotiate that situation, and there are other ways to get to that part of town from that neighborhood.
2. Cars from Bridgeport Ave always have the right of way - they have no stop sign.
3. Be polite, but firm. Don't hesitate - if it is your turn, go. Hesitation frustrates other drivers and can lead them to be more aggressive than necessary.

Are there many accidents at that intersection? I don't think I have ever seen any.

Very True Mr. Ed. However, many times I am stopped at Oak Ave to make a right onto Bridgeport Ave. and with no cars coming either from Center St. or Bridgeport Ave. I attempt to take a right onto Bridgeport Ave., then a vehicle comes down Perry Hill Rd. and DOES NOT STOP. They don't even hesitate. A number of time I was almost hit, by these "entitled" drivers. Over the years that have been many accidents and many near accidents, because people feel they don;t have to obey the stop sign.

CHECK THE ACCIDENT OCCURANCE AT THAT INTERSECTION NONE THAT I CAN REMEMBER. PROBABLY BECAUSE EVERYONE HAS TO BE CAUTIOUS

The whole intersection needs to be changed.

I have lived on new street my entire 26 years on this planet. I use that intersection regularly and rarely have ever had an issue. If people don't stop for a sign what makes you think they are going to stop for a light?
