Description
Congrats to the police for successfully removing the bums from under the highway near the police dept. Except now the bums have taken over from the Old Oakland neighborhood all the way to the highway. And they are not homeless since they are camped out in tents. Public nuisance, public safety, public health, drugs, alcohol, urination, feces. Please do something quickly because my neighbors (including young children) and I are concerned for our safety, some having already experienced threats of violence. This is a sensitive issue, and without immediate action, I'm afraid it could escalate into physical confrontations.

"No one has the right to take over a public right of way..." As a matter of principle (if not of law), that cuts both ways; it applies equally to yuppies and to "bums"! Public urination or defecation is one thing (objectively a health hazard), but calling people "bums" is a lifestyle judgment, and the right to impose such judgment on others should remain inside the walls of one's own home.
"Let's work together to find a solution"? Indeed, look again at the suggestions I've made above. "Together" means together -- all human beings included!
