Description
I am concerned that three people in my household have not qualified for the CVS drive up testing. One of which is a healthcare worker and a caregiver to an elderly family member. What are the qualifications of being able to be tested if these are not?

We strongly encourage you to check out the city’s crisis hub at https://covid19.newhavenct.gov/ where you’ll find all current information about COVID-19 in New Haven. You can also call (203)946-6316 for non-emergency issues or (203)946-4949 for health concerns. In the event of an emergency always dial 911. Check back soon for an update to your request.

Thank you for the response.
I will let the healthcare worker know about getting it through work. She may already know.
The issue with requesting anything from a doctor or employer is that once tested they must remain out of work until the results come in. This is the case for non healthcare yet still essential workers. I.e grocery stores etc.
The reason they wish to be tested is because they are still dealing with the public and two cases have already been confirmed in the workplace.

Manager of Operations, Process Improvement & Jessica,
I also did research on this subject. It's fantastic CVS is offering tests; however, most people don't qualify. The only people who qualify are people who either have a referral from a medical professional 𝙖𝙣𝙙/𝙤𝙧 are experiencing one or more of several different physical conditions.
I tested the online application process many times and I tried every possible different combination of answers. The criteria for qualifying is very strict.
Basically, anyone who seems healthy 𝙖𝙣𝙙/𝙤𝙧 who doesn't have a referral from a medical professional doesn't qualify for the test. The only way to circumnavigate this stringent process is if the applicant lies about their physical condition. I'm sure nobody in our city would ever fraudulently answer questions on any application, right?
I hope this information helps.
