  Poppy you and as many concerned neighbors as possible need to file complaints with Code and Blight enforcement 510-238-3381. It normally takes up to week for an inspector to go out. Nothing is normal right now. They then need to give the property owner 30 days to respond not fix the issues. Also with shelter in place many construction crews are not working. To add to that the city is over run with all types of vandals.

  I have found that they really do not like doing there jobs. We have found hounding them is the only thing that works and many do not have the time to do it. If your inspector does call back ask for there supervisor if that does not work file a complaint with the auditors office.
  I believe they could get rid of a third of the cities staff and that taxpayer would see no change in operations.

  It makes a difference when neighbors file the complaints. When you call they will give you a ticket number. Make sure you find out who your inspectors name is and his contact and phone number. Its going to take a few calls. If you get a lazy inspector they will work incredibly hard not to do there job.

  Issue #1005949 is the same issue, but it has been listed as “closed” even though the graffiti, trash broken windows, and so on are all still there. Nothing has changed. In fact there are reports that have been open for years with the same graffiti, same broken windows?

  There needs to be a whistle blower investigation from the city auditors office of what is or should I say not going on with Code and Blight enforcement. So many working so hard to do so little all at the taxpayers expense. I mean are they getting paid even more money from absentee private property owner to keep doing nothing.

  3 years after this was first reported and the fence has broken down and there is trash and weeds everywhere. God forbid a fire breaks out from the homeless, kids and fireworks going off.
