Description

We need traffic calming measures on Finch because:
a/ Finch between Wyatt and Sportsman is a major north-south thoroughfare (red line below), so:
i/ Vehicles – many of them heavy - travel up and down it a lot more now, as the island is developing.
ii/ Drivers are potentially commuting, working, and stressed - and many are speeding.

b/ There is more pedestrian and cyclist traffic now.
i/ New properties have been developed off Finch (NE Reserve Way, with the protester)
ii/ There is now a trail leading from Weaver to Finch through the new development. This means more pedestrians and cyclists using Finch to get to the trail.

25 mph Speed Limit
We have a 25 mph speed limit on Wyatt & Sportsman. Finch is in between, with a 30 mph limit. Why?
We need a 25 mph speed limit.

Speed Bumps
We have had police officers doing speed traps, and electronic scorecards that show the speed people drive, but they didn’t work. Speed bumps are long term, affordable and effective. We have them in the development by Safeway through the car park: why not here?
