This makes me so mad, not the existence of people surviving and existing agaisnt all odds, but your 'reporting' of it. Are you serious? These are PEOPLE and they are unhoused. Oh boo hoo, you can't walk on the sidewalk to... your house. You *have* a house. Are you from West Oakland? Did you originate here? Do you belong here, truly, or did you buy your way in? Do you feel okay being implicit in the potential police displacement of human beings for whom this has been their neighborhood before it became a trendy spot to gentrify and develop?
