Added detail and correction to address of shade trees cut down Friday morning May 8:

The address is between the rear of 10 Clyde street and the side of the building at 11 Wesley street.
The trees were possibly either pine or spruce.

Trees on private are not subject to MGL Chapter 87 the Public Shade Tree Law nor are there any applicable ordinances in the City of CHELSEA preventing removals by property owner

Is there an ordinance bill in place or proposed that will address the issue of shade trees on private property?

Hopefully a bill will be proposed this year to address the protection and preservation of shade trees on private property.

I would contact your city councillor about this. Todd Taylor is the district councillor for this area.
