City staff will be commissioning a signal study to determine if a protected left turn phase addition is warranted. I will update when the study is complete.

Based on the most recent peak hour turning movement count and a recent crash history, a protected/permitted left turn phase is not recommended at this time for eastbound New Bern Avenue at the Wake Med Emergency Entrance. New Bern Avenue is part of the NCDOT highway system; therefore any modifications must be approved by them. If you have any further concerns, please contact NCDOT at 220-4600.
