Agreed! I live in North Hills and when I am driving below the speed limit on Cherry, cars will use the BIKE LANE to pass me and speed on ahead! They are a menace to my neighborhood, put the mobile camera right at the top of Cherry at 10th and as they round the curve they will be caught. Maybe the Northern Meadow residents will then stop using Cherry as their own highway.
Speeders = 40-45 MPH on King .
Peopke are actually going the speed limit o those residends that go 30-35 King (which are alot more than the people that go the speed limit) Speeding on King and Cherry is not a problem. People just want to go the speed limit of 40 which is very hard to do. Back when it the road was 2 lanes and you didn't have bike lanes (which no one rides in btw) then you could get around the people going 30-35.
Speeding on Cherry is not a problem. 1st of all, a bike lane on that road is stupid. No one rides in those lanes either.
Rio Rancho police want people to drive 5-10 MPH below the speed limit.
What needs fixing is the pavement on 10th street. Its worse than Cherry ever was before that road was fixed.
Open up Paseo to 10th and you will have "less speeders" on King. Then the police can't hang out at the corner of Paseo and Unser all night duing an event at the Star Center.
The reason people use the bike lane - should still be the 2nd lane by the way is because you are driving below the speed limit. Duh! People that speed in Northern Meadows are the new home peoply by the elementary school. The older homes older cars people drive slower. The fact that King has alot of speeders is a myth. When?? It's just like the quota that there is one accident a day on Unser at Northern and Southern to have red light cameras. That's a joke too with that stat. .
The speed limit on Cherry is 30, not 40. So, if you think it's 40, you're probably one of the speeders being discussed.

Any one trying to justify why people speed is just plain ignorant. It doesn't matter if you agree with the speed limit, it is posted and should be followed. Just this morning, while driving east on Cherry, someone passed me going at least 50 miles per hour. It was in the school zone, and is simply dangerous and stupid. Also anyone stating that the bike lines are not used obviously doesn't live in North Hills. So far everyone who has argued against the notion that speeding on Cherry is a problem, are obviously the people living in Northern Meadows who are doing the speeding. If you want to drive faster take Unser to your subdivision and stay off of Cherry!
The speeding on Cherry is still a big issue. And sorry to burst anyone's bubble but most of the vehicles that race by me on Cherry go to 10th street and turn towards Northern Meadows, not saying no one in North Hills speeds, but clearly the fact the Cherry is being used as a main thoroughfare to the other subdivisions is a huge problem. Cherry was not meant to be a main road hence the low residential speed limit, which is not being followed.
