The police department put a stand alone radar road unit on the road. It has slowed many of the buses down to a certain extent but has only made people aware of how fast they can go down the road without getting caught.
They need a cop there writing tickets, not a machine.

It is not just one area in town. The Seymour Police Department rarely does any kind of Sit and Radar in town. The intersection at West and Church is just as bad - a 4-Way stop sign, 90% of the people ignore, or speed through as they decide it is their turn.

Yet, every evening you an find tow Seymour police cars parked under Route 8 near the on ramp - Fat lot of good that does when everyone in town knows you are there every evening.

There is a special hearing tonight (10/17) Seymour residents on Tuesday will get a chance to decide whether to spend about $837,000 on new equipment for the police department and public works department.

The town will hold a Special Town Meeting at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18, at Town Hall, to discuss the proposed purchases.

Go and tell the police that you can't see voting on tihs issue until they start doing better speed patrols in town.
