Following the provisions of Chapter 40U of the Massachusetts General Laws regarding housing code violations, the Town must notify a property owner of a violation and allow two weeks to resolve the issue. If, at the end of two weeks, the owner is still in violation, daily fines are assessed. Unpaid fines are placed as a lien on the property. Regardless of these procedures, there is no guarantee that the homeowner will comply and the Town may not enter onto private property to maintain it. This issue has been assigned to Code Enforcement for review and an update will follow shortly. Thank you for your patience.
I did let the police know about 2 weeks ago. They came out here but I'm not sure what came of it. He had just left the property so I don't think they spoke to him.
The property owner knows he is back there and let's him keep the junk cars in her driveway I guess.
Update on Leo Egan Way man collecting junk and living in woods behind house. The owner was unaware he was LIVING there and creating a junkyard. She told him to get the stuff out. Do you think I should notify police again to speak with home owner? She's allowing him to keep the unregistered vehicles in the driveway. I'm so frustrated. Nothing was done done last time I called police?
Thanks for your help!
Hi ,
I actually spoke to the owner, finally, and she is as horrified as the rest of us. She was away evidently for 2 months and had no idea this was happening. She agreed this man is a squatter on her property and is going to the police today to see if they do something about it. I really appreciate all of your help and attention to this matter!!! Many thanks
Tracy
