All the fencing on both sides of the drainage ditch needs to be replaced. The existing fencing was installed many years ago. Several years ago a girl was drowned when she tried to prevent her younger brother from be swept up in the culvert on the east end of the ditch. It had rained that day and the current was swift. Then the fencing was installed.

I was not pleased when the City installed railing because it is too easy to breach.,especially for the very young who can crawl under to play in the water or to hunt minnows. I used to do that when I was ten years old and there was no fence then. The fencing needs to be of better quality.
