Please address this issue immediately!

Over 2 weeks and LCI has failed to acknowledge this issue. The area representative for the East Shore area has also not responded to my email requesting this issue be addressed. Other "Private Property Issue" on See Click Fix are being acknowledged. Why not this one? I guess it's time to get City Hall and my Alder involved.

You should've received a response by email the next day. Since you claim to have not received it, I will copy and paste it here with an update.

"I will have to send a notice of violation and wait for the owners to receive and respond within the 10 days time limit upon receiving the notice. If they don't respond, then we will have see if it's possible to create a work order and complete the work then lien the property."

Since then, the property has gone through a strict foreclosure and the plaintiff is awaiting authority from the court to officially receive title to the property. During this process it is very difficult to get any work done as the bank doesn't become the rightful owner until granted title through the court. I have been reaching out to the bank to see if they are willing to complete the work in the meantime.

I do not "claim" to have never received a response. I never received a response.
Why can't the bank order the landscaper, who shows up weekly, to add removing the weeds at the back the property. I asked him to and he refused.
To recap last year: after showing photos of the 4 foot weeds, to the LCI rep, I was assured LCI would send staff out to address the issue. Unfortunately, I was not home when LCI worked on the property. LCI mowed the lawn and weed-whacked #25 Florence Ave. I spoke to a neighbor about what happened. She was weeding her garden when LCI was on the property. She said the supervisor told the worker to cut the weeds at the rear of the property. The worker refused and he and the supervisor got into a heated argument. They left without completing the job leaving me with an overgrown mess protruding thru the fence; weeds forcing their way up thru my driveway, and some of the 8 foot weeds falling over the fence into my yard. Additionally, a family of rabbits took up residence in the weeds and devoured my organic vegetable garden at great personal expense to me. I have no reason to doubt my neighbor's version of what transpired as she is a medical professional and has nothing to gain.

The weeds and rabbits aren’t the only problem. Several groundhogs are living there . The have killed several of my mature shrubs. The property is surrounded by dead trees, probably ground hog victims. The back yard is littered with trash, such a shopping cart and a broken wheelbarrow, which the mower leaned against my fence. This is the view from my deck, not what I pay high New Haven taxes for.

Another week goes by and nothing is done. The weeds are over 3 feet now. The Japanese Knotweed almost 5. How convenient that this site will not let me post a picture.

Another week has passed. No update from the East Shore LCI rep. The bank's mower was there again on June 8 and refuses to touch the weeds even though they are above 12". Posting pictures of the Mugwort now 4 feet tall and the Japanese Knotweed now almost 5 feet tall. Looking forward to tonight's East Shore Management Team where I can confront the LCI rep and finally get some answers.

Update: The bank should have this completed by June 21.

Will leave this issue open until June 22 to confirm the work will be completed.

WORK NOT COMPLETED BY JUNE 21. LCI time to send your work crew in and cut down the now 5 FOOT weeds. Issue the bank a stiff fine and send them the bill for the work done. This issue has dragged on long enough!!

For all intents and purposes, the bank is the owner of the property. If I trip and fall on their sidewalk; who do I sue? The bank! So they have to fix the problem. Who is the bank?

The City just likes to pursue little owners of property but the real slumlords like banks and NHHA are untouchable.

Closing because when opened the Bank was in the process of officially taking ownership of the property. The Bank took over the property and promised the now OVER 5 FOOT WEEDS would be addressed by June 21. It is now a full week past that date which now MAKES THIS AN LCI ISSUE. Will open a new request because of this.
