The bike trail has been closed at 3600 Cutler for a week with no work being done for the past 5 days. Please remove the signs so people can safely go under the bridge rather than cross one of the most dangerous intersections in the city. Hundreds of cyclist and runners are being forced onto the dangerous street (many with children).

I am reopening this complaint, as "closed" does not mean "requested Advantgae (sic)..." The problem still exists as I write this, and "requesting," as stated here, illustrates perfectly why the problem is still there. The City is "required," not requested, by MUTCD and other guidance to "require" sign contractors such as Advantage to properly follow guidance immediately when the signs are first placed. Moreover, the City is "required," not "requested" to properly perform its duties in specifying that guidance to the sign contractors.
Instead, the City is "requesting," disdainfully closing the raising of such issues on SCF, and then just waiting until the job is over to further claim success, never having addressed the danger at all.
This sham "process" must and is "required" to change. Instead, DMD staff versed in MUTCD and other guidance MUST immediately, by the time construction starts, design temporary and not-so-temporary construction areas with proper sign placement and other details as stated in MUTCD.
Not doing this BEFORE construction begins, then "requesting" Advantgae (sic) after failing to do so is actionable and will end up only costing taxpayers money and potentially injuring/killing citizens endangered by this incompetency.
In reopening this report originally placed by someone other than myself, I demand more than the sham process outlined above for this and all future road construction projects. Otherwise, we're just going to see the City in court and other venues through which intransigent government agencies are made to spend taxpayer money fixing what should have been done right in the first place.

Advantage can only provide proper detour here being the bike trail is closed for electrical work and boom trucks are blocking the trail. Advantage will see if they can provide accessible entry and exit through the one-way this is also a private road and MUTCD restricts detour to though private road. The bike trail must remain closed for safety. Citizen can contact the office and speak to my supervisor for a better conclusion. The detour is adequate better than proving through an arterial road with no dedicated bike lane. the private road is 100' or so...
