Evie is there a time regulation though like they can blast music only before 10 PM or such? This is really disruptive to me and i can hear it with all of the windows closed. Will the police respond? Thanks

I live down the block and I’ve heard this music too. Your best bet is to call the police WHILE the music is happening, particularly if it’s during the evening hours as specified in the city’s municipal code. I’ll post a link to that below for you to look at, if it’ll help!

We are at Cartright Towers Condominiums across from the Revolutionary Cemetery and can hear the blasting music from 41 Sterling Place. They are inconsiderate, loud and noisy. They have been for years. Also from 2440 North Ave. Extremely loud music that disturbs the entire neighborhood. We should form a coalition to stop this disturbing music. There are older and people that are ill and cannot stand rest peacefully.

Several residents are bent on the news media. Some of us do not want the publicity, but the music in the area has to stop somehow. The fireworks are another story, but the loud weird music will go on all summer.

Well, it should remain in the hands of the residents. But it appears to be happening all over the city. This isn't my neighborhood but mine has the loud firecrackers going off all night.

Dr. Mary - not sure if you joined the Strathfield historic district association, but their newsletter today mentioned that they are in contact with the captain of the PD and that he offered that anyone can email him personally with complaints such as noise violation, etc. here’s the text from the email:

Police were called tonight about 41 Sterling Place. They started their loud music around 7pm. Police didn't get there, but they seemed to have stopped, don't know when. They are the most problematic people in the neighborhood. We drove by the house and it was loud screaming and yelling and the bass of the music was terrible. Something should be done about them. They also seem to be dealing in drugs.

Bobbyd- The email address for the police captain as above. He encouraged members of the community to email him directly. If you’re not doing that, how is he going to know that you put in a call and a car was never dispatched?

Police were called after 7 pm. Didn't know about the email to Steven Lougal until last night. Police did not get to 41 Sterling, Dispatch called me back at 9:45pm asking if the music was still going on. By that time it had stopped. This music business has been a problem with Sterling Place since around 2015. Police have been there many times and they continue, screaming, yelling and that loud bass can be heard all over the neighborhood with windows closed and TV on loud. What can the neighborhood do as a group to put an end to these disturbances? It effects, Regency House, North Brook, Cartright and surrounding neighbors. People want to rest, sleep or just relax and not be victimized by a group of savages. We're under the impression that there are numerous drug deals going on at 41 Sterling.

I sent Dr. Mary a letter offering help and didn't get a response. Letter went out a few weeks ago.

The noise hot-spots for music are: 41 Sterling Place, 2449-2450-2451, and next door to 2450 North Ave-Bridgeport. All this banter going back and forth won't do any good unless we do something about as a group. The houses next door to 41 Sterling are a disgrace. They are beyond Blight.

Music from a new location all day and tonight. Pierce Place off Briarwood Ave. It's a hidden street off Briarwood. Those poor people at Regency Apts, the Senior Housing, Northbrook and the neighborhood in general. Awful. Blasting music and singing, dancing, again, no masks or distancing. We drove around several blocks and for once, it wasn't Sterling Pl. No consideration or regard for other people. Low class.

No I have not. I would not know when they are....it is just very frustrating. My neighbors have had the police called on them numerous times and nothing happens

It would be a great idea to gather as many "bodies" as possible and make a show of "force" as it were. BE the voice to effect the change. I cannot be there as I have recently had surgery and am bed ridden but will be glad to go, if necessary, at a future date. But I am also not as effected by this as many here are. You and your neighbors have tolerated this long enough. This is what our government is for, to protect and to keep the peace. They are failing. Let them know how you feel. Bodies make a difference if they stand in one voice. This forum is more for the convenience of the various city departments NOT the public. You can do this!

Last night on Pierce Place off Briarwood was literally disgusting. The music could be heard on Wood Ave, Laurel Ave, that are blocks away. You can't get a cop for love or money. They claim there were 42 calls at dispatch. It's always the same story. We've been told that there's a comradery between the police and these people. I can't see that as being true. We were wondering if the governor's offices might help. Someone has to approach these people and put and end to this nightmare.
