Thank you for reporting your service request to the City of Huntsville. We surveyed the system and the backyards in this area are flat. This water drains from your yard through the next door neighbor’s yard and into a pipe (although it drains slowly because of a lack of elevation drop). We looked at piping the backyard ditches, but there is not enough elevation drop to get a pipe system to work. The water that builds up during a rain event is within a utility and drainage easement. If you have additional questions or concerns, please call 256-427-5300 to speak with the drainage engineer”
