Description

The debris pile noted in the photo has been awaiting pick up since February. Due to cooler weather and good health, I have able to add an additional 1/3 to this pile by the end of March. So the debris has grown over time without any yard waste pick up. I called the end of March and was given the Covid19 rationale.

On Monday morning, May 11, 2020, from this debris pile, I cut up enough to fill 3 containers and left these containers next to the debris pile. As I was going out of town I also set out my "household garbage" on the opposite side of my drive around the same time for Tuesday's collection.

That very same day a County truck came by, picked up yard waste from 1900 Birchwood Way and also collected my "household garbage" for some reason. However, neither the debris pile nor my 3 containers was touched.

As I watched from by carport this morning, May 27, 2020, yet another County truck came by and collected yard waste from 2 of my neighbors (both bagged and not bagged); yet again neither my debris nor my containers was touched. The truck just drove away . . . Do they not know what needs to be collected? Do they not look for what needs collecting? Do they care? Do you?

The County has not removed any debris from in front of my home since early February. There is no way for me to dispose of it except to cut it up myself into my 3 containers. However, I can't fill up containers to decrease the debris as the containers are already full and sit week after week, after week. This is utterly ridiculous.

I have lived at this address for 20 years and have yet to receive consistent, reliable waste service from the County no matter what or how much is paid for said "service." When I call, I get "They're still collecting for the week" or "I'll notify the driver." I even met with Mayor Reichert ~2+ years ago regarding this albeit with only received temporary improvement.

I'm 72, live on a fixed income, and have no way to remove the debris in total -- nor should I have to. If I received consistent service, I wouldn't be writing this. Unfortunately for me, I'm not getting that service; it isn't fair, and I don't think I'm alone.

Please tell me what I should do. Should I distribute my containers amongst my neighbors' homes? Should I place them in the middle of the cul de sac so they don't get "overlooked"? I've done everything from marking containers to running after trucks. Is this what I (or any other homeowner) is suppose to do?

A sincere response will be greatly appreciated.
