Is it legal to park a tractor- trailer on city street in the middle of a public park for days . There has been an 18 wheeler parked since at least last week on Edgewood Ave in park . I can't believe it has not been seen by NH police or parking enforcement .

Many cars (and recently trucks) sit alongside the park looking for drugs or prostitutes. I did notice a large truck last time I passed by, if it has not moved, the NHPD definitely needs to take action. As for parking enforcement, they ignore the rest of New Haven and instead only ticket downtown, which is stupid because there are parking violations all over this city, and ticketing these fools would be an excellent source of income. But you know how it is with City departments and unions - lazy, lazy, lazy.

I am VERY surprised that the local patrols are not seeing this as the park is on the "patrol list"

There appears to be a growing problem with tractor trailers being regularly parked in residential/non commercial areas. Blake on Osborne, Jewel Street, bottom of Goffe Street near the fire house and now this.

Though , I don't understand why an obvious and very large violation needs to be brought to the attention to the city of New Haven by so many people before something is done.

Attn: DOT ....tractor trailer truck is back in Edgewood Park - I hope it is ticketed again or booted - where is the marauding fleet of tow trucks when you need them? I guess they are busy terrorizing the citizens of NH.

The truck is still there (at least it was there around 5.15pm on Thursday)... I don't think it has moved at all, so it's not a matter of somebody parking in the same spot every day.

I repeat the question I asked on another thread. Is ticketing effective? Can the drivers ignore the tickets? Do they have to be paid to register the truck? Are the trucks registered in CT? At what point do they get towed or booted?

When the vehicles reach the required amount of unpaid parking tickets to boot or tow we will be able to pursue these options. Per city ordinance, we will continue ticketing until then if the issue persists.
