Description

I am writing to request a crosswalk be installed at the intersection of Maumelle Valley Drive and Scenic Ridge. This as far as I can tell is the only subdivision that does not have trails or crosswalks that leads out of the Ridgeview subdivision. If you walk to the intersection of Odom and Scenic Ridge then turn right or left on the sidewalk you come to the end of a side walk and must walk through someone's property on the left or the wooded area to the right. As the city is posed to be a city of "connected" walking trails. I propose that we install a crosswalk from Scenic Ridge to Maumelle Valley Drive which would allow SAFER egress from the Ridgeview subdivision onto the trail system. At this time my children and I must run across the street to avoid being hit or run to the center median then run the rest of the way across. I find this to not be in parallel with the City's view of how the residents of the town should be able to access and enjoy the city's beautiful trail system.
