Description

People in the area have been setting off large fireworks nightly for the last week. This activity goes on for hours, stretching well past 11pm. The explosions are large enough to shake a house.

YES!! I have been sitting here all night shaking my head at how rude these people are. It’s almost midnight! Most of these are coming from somewhere around Astoria Street. I’m not sure who you are, but each time this happens at night I plan to walk the neighborhood and try to figure out where they are coming from so that I can call the police. You should do the same! Thanks for reporting this.

It starts around 9 PM and last night went well after midnight. It sounds like explosives going off and shakes the house. My pets were shaking as well. This is a crime to all of our Veterans suffering from PTSD!!!

I'm so glad this has been reported and hope action is taken soon! I believe it has been going on for over a week and lasting well past 11p.m. It's so loud and nerve wracking. Thank you for reporting this.

I'm at Brooklawn and North and it is extremely loud there as well. I believed that fireworks are illegal in CT? I am unable to sleep as it starts every night and goes on for hours. I wish I could pinpoint a location better.

Neighbors, I encourage you to walk the neighborhood at night when the fireworks are going off to try to narrow down the address of the houses that are setting them off. Post the addresses here and that way we can all repeatedly call the police until these people knock it off.

The chaos it causes every night, dogs are barking scared and keeping working people from resting. The fireworks seem to be coming from Wood Ave area between North Ave and. Wade st.

I hear them as soon as nine o'clock hits every night. I did walk around but saw no one. My poor old dog is freaking out. And I don't think that the police care because we cannot pinpoint it yet

I'm by Central High and I can hear as well. It's a bit premature ( they've been setting them off since the beginning of May) and it's extremely annoying. I always think someone's trying to get in through the back door, and forget what it does to my naturally nervous small dog😱😱😱😬😬😬😒😒😒.

A lot of this is coming from Briarwood Ave near North. Our condo has fragments from the fireworks on our terraces that are not screened-in. Last night it sounded like bombs going off around 9:00 pm.

I noticed they are coming from West Taft Ave and Pierce it looks like and I do see smoke from Wade also. It went on to almost 1:00a.m. last night. Hopefully a house won't catch on fire like what happened in Fairfield on Sunday - it caused Metro North to be delayed.

I did walked the area and even called dispatch and they heard the explosions clearly an acknowledged them, may be thy send the police, but the thing goes on. Someone has enough money to purchase an anonymous amount f fireworks.
