If something happens at this encampment, the city council and their tireless condemnation of the police department will be to blame. It is as if they expect the tax-paying citizens to patrol their own city. We pay the highest taxes in the country. Are we being represented? Maybe the progressive city council members should go down and deal with this encampment.

The city council cares not for you taxpayers or business owners, if you leave someone else will always take your place as their bank roll. Your voice only counts if you are poor, homeless or an illegal alien.

Vermont has the 4th highest taxes in the country. Maybe more of that needs to be allocated toward resources to prevent situations like this.

So your argument is that in order to reduce taxes we need to spend more on policing? That seems counter intuitive. And, you think that more police is the answer to homelessness? If the police go down there and bust up that camp, you think that problem just vanishes? I think our city council is looking for real solutions not quick fixes that may people feel good but actually make the problems worse.

The City Council is an embarrassing group of people. The more extreme-far-left the group has gotten, the more the quality of life for the good tax paying citizens of Burlington has decreased. When I say decreased, I mean severely decreased. In my 20+ years in this town, I have watched nice neighborhoods turn to graffiti ridden hellscapes. Or should I say " street art " to not offend anyone on the City Council that is focused more on policing thought crimes than actual ones... We need to vote these clowns out and get some actual serious adults in office.
