Description
When traveling down Lakeview Ave at the intersection of Lakeview and Aiken traveling toward Dracut, the signal is too short. Only a couple of cars either taking a left can get through the light since the traffic heading down Aiken toward the bridge have a long light and fill up the space so that a car taking a left onto Aiken can't. It causes major delays. Can the timing be adjusted to allow more vehicles the ability to turn left.

While the city does not have the funds to upgrade the signal equipment to accommodate these changes, there is a measure that could provide some relief. Parking along the easterly side of Lakeview is prohibited within 70 feet of the intersection. This restriction was a condition of the city and state when the signal was installed. The signs are now missing but can be reinstalled. While this won't help left-turning traffic, this will allow through traffic to get around the vehicles waiting to turn left.

I will ask the police to enforce the No Parking area.
