Description
There are far too many people not wearing masks in public. This is a non-negotiable rule for being out in public during this pandemic. If someone were flinging blood at passerby on the street corner the police would certainly be involved but when it comes to an invisible virus it's suddenly less of an issue? Please *immediately* have the police vigorously enforce this rule.

Dude people need the fresh air. If the place is flooded with people then we would understand to put on mask
But wearing a mask in 80 degree weather is not normal. The weather is getting warmer. If you dont want to be exposed then stay inside. Others will enjoy it without masks. So keep that in mind. To enforce this rulenwill olny cause more anger to the people/ public.
Relax and stay home if your concerned

Looks like the comment got to you. Dude!. Im not the one scared to be outside and notntoo worried if someone does not have a mask. Thats their freedom and choice. As long as im 6 feet 10feet away im safe. A mask wont save me from the virus.
Like i said and i speak for many of my neighbors and community. The mask should not be infourced, dude! It will only cause more problems in our community.
If your scared of the virus stay home and avoid as many people as possible like mentioned. Ok Captin and Richard dudes. We can not be forced to wear a mask especially in the up coming weather. Take care a be realistic.

If People follow rules we would not have consequences, punishment and prisons. People follow rules because they choose. We live in a country where freedom of choice can have positive results or negative results. The choice is yours!
Captain Cyclist wear your mask. The mask protects you from them (as much as possible...)
Those who choose exposure, aslo choose to risk their health and the health of family, friends and acquaintance.
The City of Cambridge, as far as I know, has yet to enforce the $300 fine for not wearing masks.
Those of you who believe these guideline should be followed email citymanager@cambridgema.gov
Everyone, those who follow the rules and those who do not...take care and stay safe.

Everyone is allowed - and entitled - to fresh air, exercise and sunshine in the nice weather. Just bc you do not wish to wear a mask does not mean you have the right to put others at risk or make others feel scared and less secure in a time as extraordinary as that of a pandemic. Your wish for fresh air and sunshine is not more important than others'. Attitudes like yours are so selfish.
Those of us who have stayed home (and maybe you did, too - for awhile?) are the ones who made the sacrifice of individual, personal freedom for the good of all. If we had not done this, MA would be in much worse shape. So please - put on your mask and let everyone have the same thing you want, and the sense of safety and security everyone deserves - ESPECIALLY in a pandemic!

DPW, please do something. Talk to the governor, tell him he must turn up the volume on this problem. It doesn’t take many uninformed, defensive narcissists to infect a lot of people. A couple of people posting here and there on this topic are immortal, but the rest of us, as we know to our sorrow and grief, are not.
These foolish insults are hurtful and enraging to those of us who have lost someone to this disease, or had it, or are in danger of dying in the next surge. Most people my age that I know have updated their wills and begun to give their possessions to children or grandchildren or to the increasing amount of needy people, out of work thanks to the dithering and delay of Trump, Cuomo and Baker. And we no longer dare take walks for our own health and sanity because of people like this.
That some macho guys plan on being the next Typhoid Marys in order not to be considered ‘scared’ by imaginary others is within your purview, the mayor’s, the governor’s, to protect our community and others from. If they are real (I realize they may not be) they can be tracked—and helped. These are the behaviors of terrified fragility, and that is a treatable kind of agony.

It is the law in Cambridge to wear a mask in public to protect everyone. If you don’t want to wear a mask then you don’t go out in public.

Please read carfully.
CDC-"CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission."
If its hard to maintain a distance wear a mask. Otherwise breathe the fresh air. Mask do more harm than good. And its a fact it does not save you from the viruse, it limits it, just like washing ur hands or staying home.
Im not saying not to wear a mask. Im stating to not enforce it b.c its unnecessary due to the unclean information.
Black lives MATTER.

Enforcing it is not the answer. Again there is still a lot of research to do on the virus. You think young black minoroty kids living in the projects in already closed and small confined spaces would go outside play with a mask on?
Think about it. Its much bigger than enforcing a rule on wearing a mask for a virus we still unclear about. This put our minoroty community in a deeper place.
So think deeper. B.c this will be the future of our generation. Many if not will rebel and more chaos in our community. At this point dont look like you will understand. Im sure you all living in a nice home with yard space. But feel the need to enforce a rule without thinking about the ture consequences of our minoroty community. You all should buy us masks if its that serious.

They are kids; their parents make decisions for them
Oh, by the the way, loose your implict bias; all races live in the projects, houses and apartment dwellings. Before you start joining with white allies, loose your microagressive rhetoric and educate yourself about black lives so you have a better understanding of black lives and white priviledge !

After reading your post, you've implied you are a member of the black community which is made up of poor, middle class and wealthy people along with white folks, Asians, Spanish and others.
I am a member of the communnity of color, more of an almond complexion than black; however, as a member of the black community, I suggest you do some research about our race and our economic histroy before laws were made to limit our economic growth; go back to after the civil war. Hint; Look up Katherine Johnson and NASA. Dr. Charles Drew...blood plasma. .......and so on.

Suzydoc. Are you a doctor, scientists? Im not too young. But i speak to the young the next generation. Im involved in the community more with the kids, and other young adults than I assume you are. Kids hate the masks. When i said kids im talking about he ages 5-25.
But nevertheless. My comments were to make awear to not enforce something we still have questions about. Especially if you charge or arrest us. A fee we can NOT afford and a offense we cant clear out our criminal records for a job. Thus leaving us in a deeper hole.
CdC said several things that brought confusion to our community. We can research this all day. But 1st they said the virus did not speard person to person, now it does. Then the virus is killed in a certin temperature, then stay 6 ft apart, now put on your masks when going out. To wearing your masks at all times even if your walking from your car to your front door. Yet no vaccine and less deaths around the world all of the sudden seems like this is a seasonal thing as many reports. So what to believe?
Again i have no problem with masks I wear one. But to enforcing it, is not the best way to handle this issue. I believe more education will give more understanding to each community and individual. Free masks help to for those low income families as well. You can probably afford a mask or maybe you have a yard big enough for you and your kid or enough space in your residence to not feel closed behind 4 walls in a apartment with no true air conditioning. You may not understand how young parents with younger children feel about this viruse in the way they live. Your life style is different than ours.
Im the generation that isnt scared also responsable to care for those around me. Im someone with a health condition and by far selfish to the situation. I think about how my children will live. Selfish is forcing this and charging kids for not having a mask giving criminal records without finding other alternatives. No one is invincible to a virus we cant see. But instead! say we need more education on the virus more educationon how to pfotect yourself from it and how to take care of yourseld when you have it.
Question would you rather go through life worried every single day if you would contract the virus? Or worry free and just do what you should do to protect yours? Wash your hands, 6-10ft away less gatherings etc..
Anyways Im over the comments. Seems like your stuck on not wanting to understand our community. But live in our shoes for a day. And hey i would never sneez on anyone. Thats the thing about you guys. You dont get it. Why come up with that example? Thats not thebpoint.

Mrs.ms Bonds,
What are you saying? My comments were to simply speak out for many and state that enforcing it with fees and maybe jailed for not having a mask on is not the answer. And to point out what you just said that kids are outside playing and yelling without a mask on. Your saying what i said but directing it to me as if i said something wrong.
Besides the culture
The history shows that minority and including that very small % of white kids living in those communities are kept in the hole im speaking about. By enforcing rules rather than educetion to those communities sets us back not forwards. So whatvare your talking about seems like your on the other side of this instead of coming up with a solution. You maynot really understand the community then. Speak to those parents of those kids and hear what they say and their knowledge on virus and the mixed information and feeling they have abojt it.
The point of this was that enforcment is NOT THE ANSWER. Highly imposible to have the entire country or world wearing masks. Point blank if you choose to go deeper than this. The point was not about race. But when not heard our history needs to be told again for those who didnt listen.
Bye.

@ Magyver: you say, "Question would you rather go through life worried every single day if you would contract the virus? Or worry free and just do what you should do to protect yours? Wash your hands, 6-10ft away less gatherings etc.."
You forgot, "...and wear masks".
It's not hard. People don't have to be fined if they do what they're supposed to do. Simple.
