The retaining wall is located on the sidewalk of Rhode Island Street, at the property line between 2001 19th St and 714 Rhode Island St.

I reported this problem to the Department of Building Inspection (DBI). They assigned this complaint #201334291.

DBI will send an inspector to the property to investigate the wall. If it was built without a permit or is illegal construction in any way, they will cite the property owner by giving them a Notice of Violation, which will require the responsible party to remedy the problem. A representative from DBI said that an inspector will visit the property & assess the issue within 1-3 days, depending on availability.

This issue was referred by the Department of Building Inspection to the Department of Public Works where it was verified that a valid permit for a minor sidewalk encroachment was obtained by the owner.
