Requesting to make this intersection a 4-way stop. Often people will use 20th from Cherry to Coffee Pot to cut the intersection by the bridge. Numerous cars speed down 20th at all times of the day, the intersection at 20th and Poplar is busy with neighbors walking dogs, parents with their kids and people exercising.

Transportation Department staff have completed our 24-hour traffic studies at this intersection and based on that data determined that the minimum vehicle volume or delay to side street traffic have not been satisfied, in order for an all-way stop to be installed. In addition, the average vehicle operating speeds on 20th Avenue NE were 25 MPH eastbound and 23 MPH westbound. Vehicle volume was also relatively low for a residential neighborhood and does not rep[resent a severe transient traffic issue, based on the number of households being seviced in the area.
Based on these results we can not recommend implementation of an all-way stop that would not meet State of Federal safety standards.
