Waitts Mount is a beautiful park for residents to utilize for a variety of activities. Whether it's walking, playing basketball, family picnics, bicycling, or any outdoor activity, Waitts Mount is the perfect venue. It's also the location of the highest altitude in Malden. It's unique location allows for public parking within the park. This fact poses special challenges. All parks close in Malden at 8:00pm. The gate is typically closed and locked at approximately 8:30pm. Many times the owners of the vehicles have not been located at closing and have been locked in the park. For this reason the police make an extra effort to walk the park in an attempt to locate the vehicle owners to prevent their cars from being trapped. If the gates were to remain open, individuals tend to park up in the lot and often carry on with loud music, talking, and other activities. This would often go into the early morning hours causing neighbors to understandably lodge complaints. Thank you very much and please continue to use the park!
