I alerted Susan Schwartz (Friends of Five Creeks). She found the cause:
"There was a water-main break at Leroy near LeConte, fixed by EB MUD late in the day. This was almost certainly the cause of the whitish cloudiness (very fine mud that stays suspended for a long time). Not good, because chloramines go into the creek. But at least not oil!"
Happy Apple - you're welcome. Friends of Five Creeks is an excellent resource for anything creek related. Thanks for posting the issue and keeping an eye on our precious creeks.
