I agree with this issue. Someone in my neighborhood has been setting them off between the hours of 11:30pm-12am for a month, even as late as 1:30am. Have no idea what address they are coming from.

Please know that the matter was referred to the Police Chief and the Director of Emergency Management Office on Friday, June 19, 2020, and a response was received that that a police taskforce force is being considered, along with a dedicated number soon, for residents to call in and report such incidents.

In the meantime, please call the Police Department – Dispatch at: 203-576-7671 to report problems with loud music and fireworks.

Ha Ha! they should patrol this area and track the locations down themselves. The patrol in this area is minimal on a regular basis. On Sunday my family was at my house in the back yard at about 9:30 pm when fire works debris landed on my grand daughters stroller and in my pool. Maybe they are waiting for someone to be injured or a fire to breakout. Fairfield had a large fire Sunday evening from fire works. Please help us City of Bpt. This is illegal.

I'm just confused as to the whole taking responsibility of tracking and tracing the exact whereabouts of these fireworks. Don't we pay for the shots fired system in BPT? Does it make sense to tie up phone lines? Also, whoever lives nextdoor to these offenders may need to talk to your neighbors, too. I almost thought we were gonna have ONE night without the bs, but lo and behold, they started around 10pm. I have my suspicions about this but I'll reserve my judgment until further proof of what organization might actually be causing the disturbance. I ask though, what success stories do we have from BPD besides maybe traffic control? They're always too busy or your issue isn't what they really do or they're making a bad situation worse. Running lights and trying to intimidate people. If an average citizen is gonna risk pulling up on someone who violated what's even their point? Talking to the offenders? They will tell you (they did), I'm not ganna stop. Too bad what can you do? We delegate that to the authorities, which are the law and are trained to deal with these situations so we do not end killing someone and or get shot or end in jail jail.
