Code enforcement is working to identify solutions to remedy the downhill drainage. There is a drop inlet in a neighboring property that has possibly been restricted to flow due to landscaping around it. The owner of this property will be contacted for access to inspect the structure. There are other areas up above Mountain Ridge Cove that will need to be investigated for possible relief. In particular, a street gutter on Cheyenne Cove has a termination point into the undeveloped area. This will require an engineered solution from the owner of the development.

Curb inlet from Cheyenne Cove is not a contributing issue. This structure terminates into an open area up on the hill that descends to Navajo Trail well before extending to the area of concern. Upon investigating the previous topographic and aerial maps it has been determined that the storm water flows are still following the original drainage pathway, with some obstruction and redirection from fencing and dwellings in its path. We have notified one resident about possible blockage of a storm water inlet. No response to our request to inspect this outfall has been received(notice date is 7-17-20). An update is soon to follow that inspection.

Looking for an update from the neighbors notice dated 7/17/20 and the engineered solution you mentioned. Our yard continues to dump dirt into our neighbors side yard making it impossible to open their gate. Please let me know what the next steps are.

Thank you for the updates. Our backyard was stable in 2013 when we purchased our home (it was 11years old at the time of purchase), but has declined significantly over the last 2-3 yrs without any change to the landscaping on our part, so I am interested to see what the Department of Planning has to say. We did noticed a sizable crack in our brick exterior that was not present when Mr. Carter visited our property in late June. Several other cracks that did exist previously in our concrete walkway which slopes towards the affected side yard, have also increased in width. I am including pictures. Today we were quoted $12,000.00 & $18,000.00 to resolve the issue of flooding from above into our backyard, alleviate and correct the erosion that has begun to disturb our house foundation, and distribute the water to the storm drain in our front yard.
