Description
For the past three months, we've watched our corner turn into a speedway. The stop sign at Delmont and Hillmont is useless - people are driving through at 50+ MPH. I've nearly been hit three times, and just came in from a walk where I saw someone barely miss being run over by a speeding car. I see cars nearly collide daily. That intersection is literally a death trap. Something has to be done.
Please take care of our streets and our neighborhood before someone is seriously injured.

Hillmont is a major problem and has been for years...My car has been totalled, I have amost been hit over 11 times. Blowing the stop signs at Edenvale and Hillmont is constant as well!!! carss in both directions exceed the 25 mile and hour speed limit and many pass recklessly. speeds have been observed going 60 to 90 miles and hour..Animals have been killed. The tossing of garbage from Fat Foods as well as Benihana's is constant AC Transit is on this stretch and and has over 20 buses a day carryng zero to 1 or 2 passengers sporadically! Thisa is way over due for attention and yes before someone does get hurt!

The number you provided for OPD Traffic Operations Division is not accurate. In addition, I thought this system was supposed to handle traffic issues. It would be far more efficient for you to transfer my complaint directly. This issue needs to be addressed before someone is killed. Why have a system for reporting in place if you do nothing with the reports?
At least we now have the City of Oakland's negligence documented...

Just a flag to anyone following this issue - I called 311 and they provided the correct routing for this issue. It needs to be brought to the attention of Traffic Engineering. Their number is 510 238 3467.
It sounds like there's already a case open about this intersection. I encourage you to call and reference #1022611. If we all call perhaps we can help get this fixed.
