Truck sign on Pinegrove on SE side of Road (heading towards Roswell from East Cobb) just over bridge is covered with Kudzu/vine.
Also, I have seen three 18 wheelers using Pinegove as thru traffic. It backs up traffic even more at the intersection at Mimosa/Highway 9 because they take up so much space at the light.

Although viewed as a local city roadway, the Pine Grove Road/Shallowford Road corridor is actually part of the Federal Aid Highway System and National Highway System, and is a City of Roswell minor arterial roadway. This system, as outlined by federal law, is intended to serve major population centers, border crossings, ports, airports, public transportation facilities, other intermodal transportation facilities and other major travel destinations. Minor arterials in this network, such as Pine Grove Road, are intended to support commercial traffic and serve as a connecting routes between principal state arterials, such as Georgia SR-92, SR-120 and SR-9.
Although the City has posted the roadway for NO TRUCKS, the prohibition is unenforceable for most trucks using the route because any commercial carrier with a delivery origin or destination along the route or within reasonable proximity to the corridor can legally use Pine Grove Road/Shallowford Road, both under City ordinance and federal regulations. Section 22.2.3 of the City Code pertaining to truck restrictions only requires that commercial carriers be prepared to demonstrate proof of origin or destination to justify traveling on a route other than a designated truck route if stopped for inspection. There is no absolute prohibition of trucks provided by City Code. Therefore, Roswell Police officers are more likely stop a truck on Pine Grove Road for speeding rather than simply because they are a commercial vehicle.
Since most of the trucks using Pine Grove Road have a right to be present on the roadway, our office will coordinate with the Roswell Police Traffic Enforcement Unit to request more aggressive speed enforcement of commercial carriers and explore the possibility of commercial inspection details. City staff will also continue to maintain the NO TRUCKS signs on Pine Grove Road in an effort to deter the few trucks that should not be on the corridor.
