It's the same in all these strip malls they should be cleaned by the property owners on a daily basis ! Where is the health department and code enforcement ? Do we need more people to enforce
If you keep fining the habitual offenders they will keep them clean! There use to be pride in keeping this town clean but that pride seems to have been lost with the current elected officials as well as the people that litter. A 40 year resident !
I agree with everyone, walking through this area on a daily basis the litter had been awful. With this Pandemic it has become like a mine field, walking and trying to avoid the many discarded gloves of various colors and dropped masks. This now in addition to the usual discarded food, wrappers, lottery tickets, nip bottles etc. I've lived here over 40 years and it's so sad to see.
Following the provisions of Chapter 40U of the Massachusetts General Laws regarding housing code violations, the Town must notify a property owner of a violation and allow two weeks to resolve the issue. If, at the end of two weeks, the owner is still in violation, daily fines are assessed. Unpaid fines are placed as a lien on the property. Regardless of these procedures, there is no guarantee that the homeowner will comply and the Town may not enter onto private property to maintain it. This issue has been assigned to Code Enforcement for review and an update will follow shortly. Thank you for your patience.
