Random question.... Did you see any difference (crime/ bad behavior) when the bridge that connects to Holyoke was closed for repair?

I live a few streets south of Bemis St. The situation was much better when the bridge was closed. The police are NOT interested. Me: But officer I have video of the problem. Police: well I did not witness it , just keep calling the station. I too am looking to move out of Chicopee.

Yes that's a common response from the CPD. "we cant do anything unless we catch them" Which I 1/2 agree with.

If you had video of someone robbing a retail store or a Bank they'd be VERY Interested. I GET IT apples and oranges on the crime and penalty involved BUT as far as I'm concerned breaking the the law is breaking the law and everything should be looked into.

It's unfortunate but the (especially now a days) police or mostly re-active vs. pro-active. Of course they will always disagree with you but having lived in the city all my life I can tell you first hand.

Get your Ward councilor involved, call the mayors office. It's not just the Police doing their job it ALL of these elected officials. The only Ward councilor I see on this site is Councilor Courchesne Ward 7, he's the only one I'd vote for.

I’m on it. Unfortunately they do need to see it to make an arrest. But they can certainly see it to know who they are looking for so they can keep an eye out. I’ll ask the district car to make extra checks. I should be seeing them in a little bit.
