Found the same conditions as reported. Repaired a bad connection to the button on the island. The speaker was not working, and it will be a while before we can get a replacement. Although it isn't obvious when the button is pushed, due to the lack of an audible acknowledgement, the contacts do trigger the controller and the pedestrian lights will come up now. This was verified with a test light we use to check buttons from across the street. The button nearest the field "worked" but did not trigger the pedestrian signals. Found and repaired a bad connection inside the pole, and verified its operation. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request.
