I know dogs aren't supposed to be at-large, but what is the dog doing to scare them? Most Pits are loving and affectionate. Thousands upon thousands are companion animals and very, very few do harm. other dogs have higher bite rates, etc. Many times dogs reported as Pits during attacks aren't even Pits. But I do understand the dog shouldn't be out, because he might also get hurt/hit by a car, etc. Hopefully the children have been told not to approach ANY strange dog.
