I pushed the walk button twice and waited through several cycles of vehicular traffic and it never gave pedestrians the light to walk. a large group of pedestrians eventually gathered and we each ended up running across when we could. There was a cop who was down the way who appeared to be directing construction vehicles, but he did not assist with pedestrians at the time I was present.

This is at least the fourth report on this issue that I am aware of, going back to early September. Each time the Transportation Department makes some comment to the effect that it will be fixed. The pedestrian signals work briefly, and then are turned off again, perhaps by the contractor. It is long past time for this to be resolved. I also want to flag the related problem, Issue ID: 802508: No lighting on College Street Bridge. It is as if the city and/or contractor has no concern for the lives of the many pedestrians that cross this incredibly busy intersection.
