They are currently working on some very large projects and it may be some time before they are able to start working at this particular location. Update from the Streets Maintenance Division: This complaint has moved up to forth on my list. The crews have been busy completing our 2011 Slurry/Micro Seal Projects. We are scheduled to begin work in the area the week of May 16, 2011.

It looks like they started to fill some cracks on Rainbow yesterday (Wed. the 11th). However, the filler crtacked immediatly as well. I hope that this was only a test of the filler and not a finished product.

They worked on Rainbow north of Vantanna Ranch Rd. (leaving cracks south of Vantanna Ranch Rd. and north of Paseo undone. They then quit working on the project for more than a week. However yesterday (May 25) I noticed them working on additional cracks on Rainbow. To my knowledge, no other street or sidewalks have been touched.

They are working on it, but not at lightning speed. They seem to show up about 9AM, work 'til 12 or so and leave (at least that is what I have observed). Some of the cracks that they filled still have issues (not filled completely). Sidewalks on ony one of the streets have been "repaired" to my knowledge. They missed two large cracks on Rainbow (southeast corner) but worked on the rest. I guess time will tell.

NO! Although they filled many of the cracks on the major streets in the are, no work, to my knowledge, has been done on any of the side streets (including mine). Additionally, they missed several cracks on the major streets and, only one section of the sidewalk have been fixed. One area of sidewalk was fixed and coated. (It looks good.) However they stopped there and did not complete the job. In addition, some of the cracks that they fixed previously (filled with slurry) have now collapsed and the ride across them is like they never fixed it.

I noticed the the Home Owners Association posted on their marquis in the area to call 311 and complain about the cracks so I guess that I am not the only one to nitice the problem.

Thank you for the additional information. Please provide the name of the specific side streets or intersections where cracks are still present. If the crack is front of a specific address, please provide the address or addresses so we may create an individual case to address each of the cracks. Specific information is needed to address this properly. We will in turn provide a reference number for each specific location that is provided.

The sidwalks that I am speaking of are most all of the asphalt sidewalks in the Ventana Ranch area. There are too many streets to list. Just have someone walk or drive around and you will see whay I mean.

Thank you for clarifying the areas needing attention are the asphalt walking paths. Per the department, "Street Maintenance does not do any preventive maintenance on walk or bike paths."

Who then is responsible for maintaining sidewalks in Albuquerque?

Can you please explain what an asphalt side walk is, and where it is located in reference to the road and to the property that is adjacent to this? Is this the bike lane on the street that you are speaking of? Concrete sidewalks in front of people's homes are maintained by the property owner in residential areas. Please provide some additional information.

There are asphalt sidewalks (off of the road right-of-way) on the major streets in Ventana Ranch. Ventena Ranch Road and Rainbow to name two. There was one small section repaired on Rainbow south of Ventena Ranch Rd. If you would like to come out and meet with me, I will be happy to point them out to you!

I got a message from someone at the city asking what an asphalt sidewalk is. He enclosed his email address which I responded to. He has yet to contact me. Thishas been about 2 weeks.

On Universe between Paseo Del Norte and Pardise, there is a sign on the North side of Universe. The sign is blocking the view of oncoming traffic from Paseo Del Norte and the gas station where people drive onto Universe. I sometimes cannot see if there are any cars coming or not. Thank You

Street Maintenance crews are responding to complaints as they get them. They are only responding to the individual complaints and not any generalized concerns. Street Maintenance is aware of the conditions of the Ventana Ranch area and is in the process of establishing a contract to possibly seal the cracks in other areas. The asphalt sidewalks are not maintained by Street Maintenance. Parks and Recreation does maitenance on Asphalt sidewalks/paths.
