So many businesses struggling during COVID that might be a kinder, nicer place to start as there are probably employees who depend on that income.

Mr. Archer, this is not about being mean. Every year this business puts signs up off premises around the neighborhood. They once put out a kayak out on the middle of the sidewalk at Grand and Marin. That fence used to have 7 signs on it (not all theirs). It became a billboard. One sign begets another sign. There are other more legal and less visually polluting ways, especially through social media, to creatively drum up business and offer deals during this difficult time. Fortunately they are an outdoor business and can operate.

There is nothing unkind about expecting businesses to follow the rules, irrespective of circumstances.

When I walked by the area today they had this tied to the fence just as someone mentioned they had the kayak down the blocked tied to the poll right where people cross the street. This is a high traffic walking and biking path and this should be removed and the other sign. I sympathize they are a local business but they take advantage more than once. They have another large sign at the end of this path on the fence too. Please ask them to remove their signs and stand up ads.

Eh, that sign seems pretty out of the way. It isn't obstructing the path.

It's a city, lots of people live here, lots of businesses operate here. It's a pretty innocuous sign for a small business.

Given the original poster couldn't make a minimal effort to contact the business directly, this seems more like someone who just wants to complain to complain. Hope the city wastes zero public employee hours on this.

Calvin respectfully when you have a kid like I do or are a mom with a stroller it does make a difference when there are others walking or riding their bikes. And in the city this wouldn’t fly as there are rules and Urban paddle consistently doesn’t think the rules of advertising pertain to them. They also had a kayak they put there the sign is having too last year. It is not okay and should be removed.

Sign still there. As expected several other signs have popped up at thay corner of different businesses. Urban Paddle has about 6 or 7 signs up at other locations, including one with a kayak on the pavement on Jersey Ave near the ped bridge for LSP. Just say the word and I'll take then down if you want free volunteer labor.

I did contact them when this thread started and they did not respond. I also have seen more signs at corner of Marin and Grand on fence (and on fence along walking path at Van Vorst), and free standing boards like at Columbus and Marin attached to a pole.

You tried. Can't let Liberty Harbor apartments off the hook either with their long banners along the fence near this location, but along the light rail tracks. Bob's has two signs there now. Even the NY Waterway has a banner there.
