Description

Starbucks built a drive thru coffee shop on the Smiths parking lot: you access the drive thru by turning off Golf Course at first turn going south after Paseo Del Norte. This is causing a back up of traffic coming across Paseo Del Norte and people turning to get to Smiths parking lot. On Tuesday 7/21 @ 10:15 am going to grocery store, had to wait a long 5-7 minutes to be able to turn because of the Starbucks drive thru traffic; again today 7/25 at 10:40 am, the same event. A real snafu.

I had my phone out to take a picture of this exact thing, but the line had waned. This is an accident waiting to happen... and that will be followed by an expensive lawsuit. This needs to be fixed.

I have to say, I agree with this 1000%. It is a horrible set up. You can't really turn into Starbucks from the Middle Turn into Smiths, however, people do. Then there's the long line that block the same traffic and the traffic coming from the first turn in. Whoever approved this made a huge mistake! Starbucks needs an employee out there when the cars are past the drive-thru or the configuration needs revamping.

I had always proposed that the oddly placed speed bump is really hiding electrical feeds from the service box across the driveway (north end of the bank). During construction, they had run their electrical cables to the job site between wooden blocks. Then later, speed bumps appeared magically in the same spot. Coincidence? Maybe...

Always it's been that traffic problem with that starbucks in the mornings and afternoons around 3:00p.m.

The ultimate line is Dutch Bros. in RR - gladly waited 1 hour in line on Friday night. The opening of more Dutch Bros. should help ease the lines at Starbucks. "-)

Very dangerous situation. Impeding & blocking traffic. Citations need to be given out to offenders and Starbucks management warned.

That entire section of that parking lot is a nightmare. Im surprised there isnt more accidents in that clustered area going between Starbucks, Circle K, and Smiths. That is one of the worst designed parking lot intersections ive seen.

Who in City Hall signed off on this mess? Somebody had to approve the original plans. (Complimentary Starbucks for life?)
