One more injury that would not have occurred if the wheel stops and barriers had not been installed. Cyclists protested against them for this very reason. 18 known crashes already they have caused?
Please remove them ASAP before you cause someone to die.

The wheel-stop barriers create hazardous conditions that most inexperienced cyclists don’t notice until too late. The frequency of crashes on this mile-long stretch on 101 in south Cardiff since this project was implemented is unprecedented. The wheel stops need to be removed before they kill someone.

Please remove the dangerous wheel stops.

Reopening this as the situation has not been solved. The Wheel stops and Bollard obstacles are still there and will continue to crash cyclists, as they have been doing from the week they were installed.
These crashs have required ambulances trips and surgeries.
Someone will, sooner or later, be permanently injured or killed by these if they are not removed.
Please escalate this urgent safety issue.

Indeed. There have been at least 20 crashes since the hazards were installed, many resulting in ambulance rides. A few long hospital stays. If these hazards are not removed someone will be permanently injured or killed. Crashes at this high frequency, about one per week, over such a short distance, are unprecedented. The design is fundamentally flawed: it’s a class 4 bikeway which is supposed to be bike-only but with no adequate adjacent pedestrian facility in a location where both bike and ped traffic are very high. A recipe for disaster.
