This street was asphalted improperly years ago laying asphalt curb to curb above the gutter line changing the grade causing washout of dirt in yards and standing water.
The whole street needs work. Water drains to the south side in the middle of the 3700 block and the grass stays washed away due to the asphalt being run clear up to the curb, making curb depth only 2 to 3 inches deep
I've seen this all over town. In next year's budget, the City of Dallas is still including some street repairs, but only major problems. If you think this counts as a major problem, call 311 and file a service request. They'll send someone out in the next 90 days to look at it. You can request a call-back when you file the service request and then discuss with that person. They may decide to fix the problem or just let it go until next fiscal year. Either way, that's about the best you can do right now.
Thanks for reporting this, Phil. You may want to forward it to your local elected official to see if they can help, as well as ask neighbors to get involved.
I would agree with Sammy that a service request should be filed through the city (though this ticket counts as public documentation as well -- in many other cities, officials are treating these as official service requests).

Please post here if you hear of any resolution.
