For several blocks east of Sacramento, there is over an inch gap along this poor repair job on the street. The contractor should be made to come back and fix it.

Thanks for posting this. I have reported many, many similar issues with PG&E, EBMUD, or Caltrans doing work on the street and then failing to repave and repaint properly afterward. I rarely have gotten Caltrans or EBMUD to fix it and never with PG&E, and unfortunately the city usually ends up spending their own money on the repair. This is an issue not just in Berkeley but all around the East Bay. I'm not sure what the solution would be, other than greater oversight from the city to ensure that crews working on the street actually finish their jobs appropriately.
