The Harper/Metro Pkway turn-a-rounds are the WORST!!! Traffic backs up thru the intersections in each direction. When the light turns GREEN for the turn-a-round, there's no place for that traffic to go because the Metro Pkwy traffic is backed up from the main intersection light. Brilliant engineering folks!

I agree. PLEASE, PLEASE someone take a look at this. It is especially bad at Harper and 16 Mile Road. It's gridlock every single day during rush hour. Come on, get 'er done!

Aside from obstructing traffic, this can be confusing as well because as you look ahead at the lights while driving, one set is green, the next is red. Cars are always braking at the green light because their brain sees the red light just past it. This does nothing to help traffic flow, as cars in the turn arounds cannot turn at this point, and when they can, that small stretch of roadway is filled with cars stopped at the main intersection.

There is another spot that is out of control - Garfield and Clinton River RD. It seems like they just synchronized it to accommodate traffic, then put in new lights and went back to where they were. You're lucky to get 2 cars past the light until it changes again. It's ridiculous! I understand it's in front of a fire station, but they should have something to monitor the light when they have an emergency. Somedays it's so backed up, I just turn around and go another way instead of waiting the 10 minutes, or more, to get past the light. Something has to be done!

You are so correct. Larry, Moe & Curly have been running the road commission in the past few years. Everything East of Garfield is a mess - the lights, the shoulders, and mainly the road conditions. You sure can tell that they don't care about anyone who drives on our side of the county!!!
