Description

To the town manager and administrators in North Attleboro. The residents of South Washington Street urge you to employ stronger speed controlling measures. No longer are half measures like flashing signs enough. Those inclined to ignore the speed limit signs in the first place have zero regard for these new signals. And as clearly indicated in the several pictures I have uploaded to this site, the signs are simply being ignored. These new flashing speed indicators are also encouraging a whole new problem: they are being used as a way for people top flaunt the acceleration capabilities of their truck, car or motorcycle.

The residents of this area who live travel and exercise the length of South Washington street demand more potent measures to curtail the speeds of the traffic: speed tables, speed bumps, speed cameras to aid in the issuing of violations. The options exist but someone has to care enough to implement them.

As a reminder to town manager, Michael Borg and others who are responsible for fixing these issues, South Washington Street is the same street where 3 people have died as a result of traffic. One pedestrian and in the past 3 months two in cars. 4 telephone poles in a row have been broken right across from where I live and our property fence was destroyed by a driver who lost control.

You are responsible for fixing these issues and when the next person dies or sustains serious injuries on this street, it will be on your head.

You can't say you haven’t been notified.
